Insurance Councils Regulation

Description

The Insurance Councils Regulation establishes the composition, delegated authority and term limits of the four insurance councils in Alberta: Alberta Insurance Council, General Insurance Council, Life Insurance Council, and Insurance Adjusters’ Council. The industry specific councils are the regulatory bodies responsible for the licensing and discipline of insurance agents and independent adjusters in Alberta. This Regulation establishes the composition, remuneration and term limits for the Insurance Councils Appeal Board. The Regulation specifies certain requirements for the appeal process. This regulation also lists the requirements regarding industry election of representatives to the various councils and board.
