Report on progress towards meeting the Canada-wide standards for particulate matter and ozone in Alberta

Description

The 'CASA (Clean Air Strategic Alliance) Particulate Matter and Ozone Management Framework' is Alberta’s jurisdictional implementation plan to achieve the Canada-wide Standards (CWS) for particulate matter (PM2.5) and ozone by the 2010 target date. The framework is based on a consensus agreement reached by stakeholders representing the government, industry, municipal and public sectors. Under the framework, Alberta Environment has committed to conduct an annual assessment of ambient PM2.5 and ozone data for all air monitoring stations in Alberta that meet the CWS data availability criteria. Under the CWS process, Alberta is only required to report for the Edmonton and Calgary Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs)
