Description

The peregrine falcon, a migratory bird of prey once listed as Endangered, is now listed as Threatened in Alberta in recognition of an increasing population and demonstrated improvements in reproductive performance. The goals of this recovery plan include the attainment of a well-distributed, average population of 70 territorial pairs of peregrine falcons in Alberta by 2010. The plan provides background information on the peregrine falcon, describes the threats facing the species, outlines proposed strategies to address these threats, and presents an action plan that lists priority actions required to maintain and restore the species.
