Description

This report provides an update on the implementation of the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy for the Athabasca Oil Sands Area (RSDS). The July 1999 release of the RSDS outlined a framework for managing cumulative environmental effects to ensure sustainable development in the Athabasca oil sands area in northeastern Alberta, a region experiencing tremendous economic growth, and at the same time, significant environmental impacts.
