This item has been replaced by a more recent resource or the content may be otherwise out of date. It is provided for informational and research purposes.
Description

Soil monitoring is required as an Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act approval condition at facilities where substances may be released to soil. Where the risk of soil contamination is minimal because of the kind of operation, or because engineered controls are in place to protect soil, all or part of the facility may be exempted from soil monitoring requirements. This guideline provides a background for the soil monitoring program and a description of soil management program requirements.
