Description

This booklet describes the rights of victims of family violence and provides information to help victims seek appropriate intervention and assistance. It describes the different types of family violence and the cycle of violence. It then goes on to explain what to do if you have been assaulted and what to expect when police become involved. Emergency protection orders are explained, as is the court process and sentencing. Other legal remedies are also listed and explained, including protection orders, peace bonds, and restraining orders. Legal assistance options are also included.
