The Alberta Activity Index (AAX) closely tracks economic activity. Developed by Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, it is a weighted average of nine monthly indicators (employment, average weekly earnings, retail trade, wholesale trade, manufacturing, new truck sales, housing starts, rigs drilling and oil production). This data file is updated monthly. See the related tab for a link to the AAX web page which includes highlights and a chart.

This cartographic quality series of 1:1 000 000 scale colour maps cover the provincial extent of Alberta. The primary provincial base map displays the Alberta Township System (ATS), major hydrographic features, municipalities, major roads, railways and select geoadministrative features (parks, reserves, etc.). In addition to the primary provincial base map, this series includes various themes that overlay the primary base map. The update of this map series is based on the provincial Base Features Access Update Program that has an approximate 5 year update cycle. Each individual map sheet is provided in Adobe .pdf format. The Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) Watersheds of Alberta represents a collection of five nested hierarchically structured drainage basin feature classes that have been created using the Hydrologic Unit Code system of classification developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) with accommodation to reflect the pre-existing Canadian classification system. The SCA Map of Alberta reflects the integration of inherent agroclimatic conditions that exist across Alberta with soil development, use and management practices. The SCA boundaries coincide to a large degree with recognized climate zones in Alberta. These boundaries also generally agree with accepted ecoregion boundaries. In the agricultural portion of Alberta, SCA's correlate strongly with soil zone lines with further subdivisions reflecting recognized agroclimate zones.

In rural Alberta, 90 per cent of people use private well water supplies for domestic use (e.g., drinking, cooking, bathing). Domestic well water systems are not regulated by the provincial or federal governments. The Government of Alberta along with Alberta Health Services (AHS) provides water chemistry testing of private well water and information and advice on safe water for domestic purposes; however, it is the responsibility of well owners to ensure the quality and safety of their water supply. Water quality may be impacted by contamination from natural sources or human activities and cause noticeable aesthetic issues or potential health concerns. Water samples are collected and submitted by well owners through local AHS sites for analysis of routine chemistry and trace element parameters. This data incorporates royalty revenue from 1970 to the present and is updated annually with royalty information from the previous year. The report is prepared by Energy's Strategic Policy area and represents summary, unaudited data. Revenue sources reported on include: natural gas & by-product royalty; conventional oil royalty; oil sands royalty; coal royalty; bonuses & sales of crown leases; and rentals & fees. As noted, the numbers are unaudited and can change when the final actual resources are reported.

This greenhouse gas emissions dataset shows area fugitive emission from tailings ponds and mine face at the oil sands mining facilities in Alberta. The data were reported between 2011 and 2021 under the Technology Innovation and Emission Reduction Regulation and preceding regulations in Alberta. The produced bitumen and the diluent flared/wasted volumes reported in the Alberta Energy Regulator's statistical report ST-39 are included in the dataset for reference.
