High School to Post-Secondary Transition Rate by Post-Secondary Service Region

Post-Secondary Transition Rate (4 year) is the percentage of students in the grade 10 cohort who have entered a post-secondary-level program at an Alberta post-secondary institution or registered in an Alberta apprenticeship program within four years of entering grade 10, adjusted for attrition. An estimate of out-of-province post-secondary enrollment is applied based on the numbers of funded Alberta students attending post-secondary institutions out of province.

Usage Considerations

Alberta Advanced Education's inclusion criteria used to determine results by region is different from Alberta Education's inclusion criteria for the provincial result. As such, the sum of the results by region may not equal to that of the provincial result. Lloydminster schools located in Alberta are not included in the count. Results include students residing within Alberta attending public, separate, francophone, charter, private, Federal and provincial schools. Please refer to for full details on methodology and other usage considerations.
