Families of Children Receiving Services under the Family Support for Children with Disabilities Program, Alberta

Description

The Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program uses a family-centred approach to provide parents with funding to access a range of supports and services that strengthen their ability to promote their child’s healthy growth and development. Supports and services are individually determined but may include respite services, extraordinary child care, aide services, counselling, medical appointment supports, health-related supports, disability-related clothing and footwear, specialized services and/or out-of-home living arrangements. The level and nature of support a family receives may vary depending on many factors such as the child’s disability and the family’s individual circumstances.
