Usage Considerations

  • Employment Insurance Coverage Survey data are collected by Statistics Canada and are used to produce a series of measures to identify groups with low probability of receiving benefits. The survey provides a detailed description of the characteristics of the last job held, reasons for not receiving benefits or reasons for not claiming. The Employment Insurance Coverage Survey provides insight into who does or does not have access to EI benefits among the unemployed and those in a situation of underemployment. The survey also covers access to maternity and parental benefits.
