Description
Provides emergency visits by semi-urgent and non-urgent triage levels for patients residing in the local geographic area and Alberta for the most recent fiscal year available. Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) is a scale to categorize patients according to the type and severity of their initial presenting signs and symptoms at the Emergency Department that helps to determine priorities for treatment. The CTAS is used to determine the triage level. There are 5 levels, with level 1 being the most urgent and level 5 the least urgent. This indicator dataset contains information at both Local Geographic Area (for example, Lacombe, Red Deer, Calgary West Bow, etc.) and Alberta levels. Local geographic area refers to 132 geographic areas created by Alberta Health (AH) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) based on census boundaries.
