Description

The Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program provides services to help adults with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible in their communities. The data goes back to June 2018 and tracks how many individuals are accessing their PDD services through community service providers in regions across the province.

Usage Considerations

Data is from seven main service areas: Calgary, Central, Edmonton, North Central, North East, North West and South.

The PDD program contracts directly with approved community service providers to manage the delivery of supports and services though a service provider contract. Service providers must be approved by the PDD Director and are required to meet requirements contained in their contract.

The PDD monthly caseload count is based on an average count for the reference month and the 11 previous months. Individuals are counted when an invoice for services is paid in the month. This method is used to address monthly invoicing fluctuations for a more accurate reflection of the number of individuals receiving services.
