All Emergency Visit for Patients Residing in the Local Geographic Area (LGA) for Triage Levels Semi-Urgent (4) and Non-Urgent (5) Combined by Weekday and Time, Fiscal Year 2013/2014

Description

Provides a time profile of the number of emergency visits by day of the week. Data covers both semi-urgent and non-urgent emergency visit triage levels during the most recent fiscal year available for patients residing in the local geographic area. Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) is a scale to categorize patients according to the type and severity of their initial presenting signs and symptoms at the Emergency Department that helps to determine priorities for treatment. The CTAS is used to determine the triage level. There are 5 levels, with level 1 being the most urgent and level 5 the least urgent. This indicator dataset contains information at both Local Geographic Area (for example, Lacombe, Red Deer, Calgary West Bow, etc.) and Alberta levels. Local geographic area refers to 132 geographic areas created by Alberta Health (AH) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) based on census boundaries. This table is the part of "Alberta Health Primary Health Care - Community Profiles" report published March 2015.
