Data prior to February 2021 included reflects child care programs in Alberta licensed under the Child Care Licensing Act. Program types under the Child Care Licensing Act included day care programs, out-of-school care programs, preschool programs, group family child care, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs. In February 2021, child care licensing changed from program-based to facility-based under the Early Learning and Child Care Act. There are now four types of licenses: facility-based programs, group family child care programs, family day homes (approved by a licensed family day home agency), and innovative child care programs. A facility-based program can have any of the three program types under a single license: day care, out of school care and/or preschool programs. Following this change, no new licenses could be issued for innovative programs, however, existing programs were allowed to continue to operate indefinitely under the former Child Care Licensing Act. Family day home agencies and group family child care programs were not impacted by this change. Please Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related mitigation measures, many of the listed child care programs were not open or able to operate at full capacity. •Program ID: a unique identifier for each program. Note that due to the change in program types in February 2021, Program IDs from March 2021 forward are not directly comparable to historical data. •Program Name/Address/Postal Code/Phone Number: The name, address, postal code and phone number of the child care program recorded in the Ministry’s Child Care Information System. •Type of Program: child care program types include: day care, out of school care, preschool, family day home, group family child care and innovative child care. Note that due to change in February 2021, day care, out of school care and preschool care are grouped as facility-based programs. •Day Care Y/N; Out of School Care Y/N; Preschool Care Y/N: indicates the type of programs located at a location with a facility-based license. Note that this only applies to data from March 2021 onward. •Capacity: indicates the maximum number of licensed/approved spaces a program is approved. •Inspection Date: indicates the date, within the last 18 months, that an inspection was completed by a Child and Family Services licensing officer or contract manager. •Inspection Reason: indicates the type of inspection visit. Licensing Officers visit child care programs for a number of reasons including scheduled inspections and complaint investigations. •Non-Compliance: identifies the non-compliance that was issued to a licensed child care program during an inspection as per the Early Learning and Child Care Regulation. Non-compliances issued to a family day home agency reflect Agency non-compliances as well as family day home provider non-compliances, identified during the Region’s review of 10 per cent of the agency’s providers. •Enforcement Action: identifies the type of enforcement action issued. •Remedy Date: identifies when the non-compliance was remedied by the child care program/agency. 2016-01-14T23:44:23.381108+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/1bef4453-1dab-4f2a-bc63-2b3df318d47cPopulation by municipality2024-02-15T15:28:04.712597+00:00Estimates of the number of people living in a municipality or municipal district, including Canadian citizens and immigrants as well as non-permanent residents, by year, age, age group and gender.2015-10-27T16:54:50.505079+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/cc9599d0-d2e5-455b-9d87-31ad661d1b4bAboriginal identity, age, sex, Indian status and area of residence : on reserve for the population in private households in Alberta and the Northern Alberta Development Council region (2011)2024-02-15T18:37:14.888847+00:00This dataset is a customization of Statistics Canada data to present information on Aboriginal identity, age groups, sex, registered or treaty Indian status and area of residence: on reserve for the population in private households of the province of Alberta and the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) region based on the 2011 National Household Survey.2016-04-12T14:39:59.342837+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/a036ab83-a9a3-480a-83e0-f1a77bc33ce7Aboriginal identity, age, Indian status, area of residence, and sex for the population in private households in Alberta and the Northern Alberta Development Council region (2011)2024-02-15T18:39:31.292524+00:00This dataset is a customization of Statistics Canada data to present information on Aboriginal identity, age group, Indian status, area of residence, and sex for the population in private households in Alberta and the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) based on the 2011 National Household Survey.2016-04-06T19:04:13.595427+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/103d7908-229a-4b99-a2d5-e5fa4aac8b89Aboriginal identity, housing suitability, condition of dwelling, number of persons per room, Indian status, area of residence, and age for the population in private households in Alberta and the Northern Alberta Development Council region (2011)2024-02-15T21:54:39.554271+00:00This dataset is a customization of Statistics Canada data to present information on Aboriginal identity, housing suitability, condition of dwelling, number of persons per room, Indian status, area of residence and age groups for the population in private households of Alberta and the NADC based on the 2011 National Household Survey.2016-04-12T16:26:46.413910+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/c08a19a0-71bb-4eba-a325-c7a034f50058Citizenship, immigrant status and period of immigration, age groups and sex for the population in private households of Canada, Alberta and Alberta economic regions (2011)2024-02-16T16:13:19.345559+00:00This dataset is a customization of Statistics Canada data to present information on citizenship, immigrant status and period of immigration, age groups and sex for the population in private households of Canada, Alberta and Alberta economic regions based on the 2011 National Household Survey.2016-04-12T20:36:47.771681+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/1ef02b5f-81c9-4a72-b9b4-93d514c35a8fStatistical area classification areas and custom statistical area classification subtotals (2011)2024-02-16T16:13:45.547390+00:00This dataset is a customization of Statistics Canada data to present information from the National Household Survey (NHS). In 2020, the Municipal Affairs Population List was discontinued following the repeal of the Determination of Population Regulation. With the approval of the new Municipal Census Regulation in 2023, Municipal Affairs resumed the publication of the Municipal Affairs Population List.2015-05-13T19:26:59.089559+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/df7b7b00-c5c3-4d0e-97ff-5f902537fac0Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) Caseload2024-03-22T20:50:23.738963+00:00This Seniors, Community and Social Services (SCSS) dataset describes the monthly Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) caseload in Alberta. The AISH program provides financial and health benefits to eligible adult Albertans with a permanent medical condition that prevents them from earning a living. Caseloads are reported as the actual volume each month and by the Alberta government’s fiscal year. Depending on an individual’s situation, some AISH benefits may also be provided for a spouse or partner and dependent children. Monthly caseloads are also shown as a portion of the entire Alberta population; and by gender, age, primary medical condition, family composition, employment participation and six service delivery regions across the province. For locations of AISH delivery regions, choose the Alberta Seniors, Community and Social Services Regions Map within the Resources section. 2018-07-19T19:38:23.044111+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/47f82be8-af8d-4994-8a97-2252d7643ff5Emergency Shelters Daily Occupancy AB2024-03-25T14:46:20.664280+00:00This collection of datasets provided by Seniors, Community and Social Services (SCSS) in both Excel and .csv format, contain aggregated data from 2013-2024, on the number of individuals accessing Adult Emergency Shelters funded by SCSS. The FLE is measured by taking the load of the learner enrolled (instructional hours + practicum hours) and dividing by the full load of that program. This results in a comparable metric to be able to use across the system. The FLE calculation is consistent for every institution and program. Alberta Advanced Education's (AE) projection model uses historical enrolment data and population projections from Alberta Treasury Board and Finance as inputs to the model.2018-11-28T20:23:12.597514+00:00https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/0ccc6d50-6645-418f-874f-322426da83fcAlberta Population Projections for Post-Secondary Attending Age Groups by Service Region2024-03-28T16:21:23.446985+00:00Population projections of core post-secondary attending age groups by Advanced Education's geographic service regions.2018-11-22T20:20:08.656759+00:00
