Building Strength, Inspiring Hope: A Provincial Action Plan for Youth Suicide Prevention 2019 – 2024 was released in March 2019. One of the actions the Government of Alberta committed to was to support the co-creation of First Nations and Métis youth suicide prevention graphic novels to provide an awareness resource that is reflective of the experiences of Indigenous youth. Children’s Services partnered with Indigenous Story Studio to create two graphic novels related to suicide prevention and mental health promotion; one reflects a First Nations story and the other a Métis story, both with a focus on wellness. The graphic novels were created through engagement with Indigenous youth across Alberta.

L’objectif de ce guide est de présenter de l’information sur les façons dont les écoles ou les autorités scolaires, les parents ou tuteurs, les professionnels de la santé et les fournisseurs de services communautaires peuvent collaborer pour appuyer à l’école les enfants et les élèves atteints du diabète du type 1.
