The Alberta Immunization Policy outlines the policies for the provision of publicly-funded immunizations in Alberta. It contains a complete listing of vaccines and biologicals that are publicly-funded and indications for their use. PLEASE NOTE: These policies and documents are revised as new research and national recommendations become available. Please ensure you are always referencing the current version of the document. Check this page regularly for updates. The Canadian Immunization Guide recommendations should be consulted when further information about immunization is required.

The broad goal of prenatal screening tests is to identify selected communicable diseases and to provide suitable interventions to protect and enhance the health of pregnant women and their infants. This document: describes current and future public health practice for prenatal screening of selected communicable diseases in Alberta; provides a historical description of past prenatal screening practices; describes the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders in the prenatal screening process; and describes the targets and target measurements of the Alberta Prenatal Screening Program for selected communicable diseases.
