The intent is to offer a natural world experience for students that reflects the outdoor field study components of the kindergarten program statement as set out by Alberta Learning and also reflects the priority actions of Alberta's plan for parks.

This report presents the results of netting conducted in 2014 on Fickle Lake.

It is part of the Alberta Wildlife Status Report series, which provides comprehensive summaries of selected wildlife species intended to be useful to those managing populations of species and their habitats, and to help identify species that may be formally designated as endangered or threatened. It is an update to the original 2002 report.

The Alberta Government is responsible for managing forested public land within the Greeen Area. As part of that responsibility, the department assesses the rate of forest growth, and reviews and approves Annual Allowable Cuts (AACs). An AAC is the annual amount of timber that can be harvested on a sustainable basis within a defined forest area. The approved AAC reflects the forested land available for timber harvest and for the forest management strategies applied to that land.
