The survey and sketch plans requirements for the preparation of a survey and/or sketch to be submitted to Forestry, Parks and Tourism (FPT) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) for a public lands disposition. The requirements include dispositions and Provisional Roadways (RDS) and Disposition Reservations (DRS), on public lands managed by FPT and the AER. This manual does not include the survey and sketch requirements for agricultural activities on public land.

This policy applies when assessing exposure control as an option for managing contaminated land in Alberta. It provides guidance on the Department's and the Alberta Energy Regulator's requirements for risk management plans. This document is intended to be used for the preparation of risk management plans submitted to the Department or Regulator for any type of contaminated site. It outlines the information that must be contained in a complete risk management plan submitted to the Department or Regulator. It is expected to be used by site managers, environmental professionals and project managers who develop, implement and maintain risk management plans for contaminated sites.

Description

The province of Alberta is covered by a broad spectrum of vegetation regions and have been classified into 6 natural regions and 21 subregions for the province (Natural Regions and Subregions of Alberta 2006). Each of the regions consists of groups of plant communities which are influenced by environmental conditions and human impacts. This guide represents the preliminary analysis of 129 plots described in the Athabasca Plain subregion. The 129 plots represent 36 plant community types. The dominant plant species, canopy cover, soil and environmental conditions are outlined for each plant community type.
