Description

Gas safety information bulletins provide guidance and clarity to interested parties on matters relating to gas codes adopted under the Gas Code Regulation. STANDATA are developed and issued by Alberta Municipal Affairs to support the consistent application of codes and standards under the Safety Codes Act. STANDATA are issued as interpretations, variances or information bulletins that may apply province-wide or to specific sites for any thing, process or activity regulated by the Act.

Description

Monthly notice of the general rate of timber dues for timber that is used to make lumber, pulp or roundwood products, including the portion of dues collected by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta. Timber dues and other fees associated with timber dispositions are collected by the province to ensure that Albertans receive fair compensation for the use of publicly-owned forest resources. The timber dues rates applied are based on current market and financial conditions are can be found in Table 1 of the Timber Dues Ministerial Order. NOTE: previously issued under the title General Rates of Timber.

In December 2023, the Government of Canada announced plans to implement a national cap-and-trade system to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the oil and gas sector to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. This report, prepared by the Conference Board of Canada and presented to Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, estimates the potential economic impact of a greenhouse gas emissions cap on the oil and gas sector.
