In July 2022, the Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Education Act came into force and established the role of the Registrar. The Registrar has a number of statutory accountabilities related to managing apprenticeship education programs and industry training programs, registering apprentices, and issuing credentials. The purpose of this document is to provide system partners with an overview of some of the key activities of the Registrar in the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Every two years, Advanced Education commissions a survey of post-secondary graduates in order to collect information that will inform strategic planning and results reporting regarding graduate demographics, satisfaction, financing of education, outcomes, and changes over time. This report presents the findings of the survey of 2019/2020 academic year graduates from credit parchment programs from publicly-funded post-secondary institutions, excluding the Banff Centre.

This report represents the results for employers of publicly funded post-secondary institution graduates of class 2019/2020.

Every two years, Advanced Education commissions a survey of post-secondary graduates called the Graduate Outcomes Survey, to collect information that is used to inform strategic planning and results reporting, both for the Province and for post-secondary institutions. The project also included the Employment Success Survey, which is fielded to supervisors of employed graduates, to acquire information about the skills and knowledge of recent graduates and to what extent they match the types of skills and knowledge that employers require in employees.

This policy manual aims to provide policy guidance to Advanced Education staff, educational institutions, students and other stakeholders regarding the Foundational Learning Assistance program. The program provides full-time and part-time opportunities for low-income Albertans, who are unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week, to participate in programs of study that increase knowledge and develop skills to prepare them for further education, training, and/or sustainable employment. The Program replaces the Learner Income Support program and the Skills Investment Bursary program.
