Description

The Supportive Living Accommodation Standards and Long-Term Care Accommodation Standards require the documenting and reporting of any incident within a supportive living or long-term care accommodation that breaches the safety or security of a resident. This fact sheet provides information that can be used to help determine of an incident is reportable.

This document is a list of publicly funded designated supportive living (DSL) accommodations and long-term care (LTC) facilities in Alberta as of March 31, 2016, arranged by Alberta Health Services (AHS) zone. Information presented for each facility includes location, facility name and address, operator name and type (AHS, private or voluntary), level of DSL accommodation, and type of LTC facility (auxiliary hospital or nursing home).

In the continuing care system, the Ministry of Health is ultimately responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality publicly-funded health care. The intent of the Continuing Care Health Service Standards (CCHSS) is to identify standards for the provision of quality continuing care health services that take into consideration the individual needs, preferences and abilities of each client. The CCHSS represent a legislated requirement and set the minimum requirement that operators in the continuing care system must comply with in the provision of health care.
