This document identifies information and procedures that applicants are required to implement prior to submitting formal disposition applications. It document only applies to authorities granted under the Public Lands Act and the Mines and Minerals Act.

The survey and sketch plans requirements for the preparation of a survey and/or sketch to be submitted to Forestry, Parks and Tourism (FPT) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) for a public lands disposition. The requirements include dispositions and Provisional Roadways (RDS) and Disposition Reservations (DRS), on public lands managed by FPT and the AER. This manual does not include the survey and sketch requirements for agricultural activities on public land.

Public lands are managed for all Albertans through the issuance of dispositions. A disposition must be obtained for any access to or activity on public lands. This document outlines the process to renew a disposition if the disposition holder wants to continue it beyond its expiration date. Dispositions must be renewed before they expire, and renewal applications must be received no later than one year prior to expiry.
