The Guide to Education combines key information and requirements for the operation and delivery of ECS-12 education programs and services in Alberta in a single, convenient reference. Selected topics include: acts and regulations, policies and standards, program planning, program administration and delivery, student assessment, diploma and certificate requirements, student placement and promotion, and awarding of credits. The Guide will be of particular interest to administrators, guidance counsellors, student advisors, teachers and other educators.

Albertans were encouraged to have their say and to take the Online Provincial Curriculum Survey that was posted from October 18 to November 18, 2016. The survey sought to engage teachers, parents/guardians, students, post-secondary professors and instructors, and the broader community about the development of future provincial programs of study to ensure that they prepare young Albertans for success. The survey questions were developed internally by Ministry staff to gather feedback regarding the direction of future provincial curriculum (Part A) and current provincial curriculum (Part B) through an online survey. The survey was made available to Albertans in both English and French.
