This guide provides clarity around the process for subleasing miscellaneous leases, pipeline installation leases, surface material leases, and mineral surface lease. It establishes regulatory alignment under the provisions of the Public Lands Act and Public Lands Administration Regulation (PLAR). It provides the policy context and process to Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) staff regarding subleasing and it incorporates existing best practices.
