Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed Synenco Energy Inc. Northern Lights Oil Sands Mine Project . The proposal involves an oil sands surface mine and bitumen extraction facilities, including associated infrastructure, with a production capacity of 114,500 barrels per day. The proposal is to construct and operate the Fort Hills Sturgeon Upgrader and associated infrastructure with a capacity to process 54,000 cubit meters per day of bitumen. The location is approximately 40 km northeast of the city of Edmonton in Sturgeon County. The EIA was deemed complete in 2007.
