Description

Shopping on the Internet is different than shopping at your local mall. The Internet Sales Contract Regulation applies to residents of Alberta or to people purchasing goods or services from Alberta businesses that sell online. Only goods or services that are bought or sold for personal, family or household use and have a value of more than $50 are affected by this regulation.

Director's order imposed on David Shelly and Vital Certificates Processing Services to ensure that all internet sales contracts with Alberta residents include the information required by the Internet Sales Contract Regulation, that Alberta consumers who enter into an internet sales contract receive a copy of the contract within 15 days after the contract is entered into, that Alberta consumers who cancel an internet contract are refunded within 15 days of the date of cancellation, and to cease engaging in Unfair Practices with Alberta consumers as detailed in s.6 of the Consumer Protection Act.
