This list provided by Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA) includes entities that are permitted to sell liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to another person for resale in Alberta. This list is published under the provisions of Section 63 of the Fuel Tax Act. Section 63 allows disclosure of this information where it is required for the purpose of complying with the Act and Regulation. Publication of this list is not intended to promote the services of any particular individual or company.

Effective the beginning of day on April 1, 2024, Alberta’s fuel tax rate is increasing from $0.09 per litre to $0.13 per litre. The rate increase applies to clear gasoline and diesel, ethanol, ethanol blended gasoline, biodiesel, blended diesel, methanol and condensate used to generate power in an internal combustion or turbine engine. The effective rate of fuel tax applicable to marked gasoline and diesel, after applying the tax-exempt consumer exemption, will be $0.04 per litre.

Inventories of clear gasoline (including ethanol blended gasoline) and clear diesel (including blended diesel) held as of 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2024 are subject to a tax rate of 9 cents per litre.

Further to the extension of the fuel tax relief explained in Special Notice Vol. 1 No. 47, the Government of Alberta will resume collecting fuel tax effective the beginning of day on January 1, 2024 at the rate of $0.09 per litre on clear gasoline and diesel, ethanol, ethanol blended gasoline, biodiesel, blended diesel, methanol and condensate used to generate power in an internal combustion or turbine engine. The fuel tax rate applicable to marked gasoline and diesel remains at nil.
