Section 86 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act requires the minister responsible for the Act to prepare an annual report about the operation of the Act. Each annual report provides a statistical overview of information requests made to government departments, agencies, boards and commissions and to local public bodies, such as schools, post-secondary institutions, health management bodies, housing management bodies, police services, public libraries, and Métis settlements.

Part 7 under PLAR provides that certain information that is in the control of AEP be disclosed to the public without the requirement for a Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy request.
