It outlines the Quality Management Plan (QMP) requirements that agencies must have in place to assure consistent delivery of high quality first aid courses for designated workplace first aiders in Alberta. In addition to quality assurance requirements, instructor and first aid training program standards are listed. Specific competencies are outlined for three levels of first aid training.

Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring fibrous minerals with unique physical characteristics including extraordinary tensile strength, poor heat conduction and resistance to chemical attack. For these reasons, asbestos was often used as an ingredient in a wide range of building products. Unprotected workers can be exposed to asbestos mainly by breathing in the fibres which are released when these asbestos-containing building products are disturbed.

IAQ considers the indoor environment, including the makeup of the air and comfort factors such as temperature and relative humidity. IAQ issues tend to be complex and should be properly assessed to identify problems and their solutions. This brochure discusses some effects a poorly-maintained IAQ can have on the body, and provides a general guide to maintaining all the components that lead to good indoor air quality.
