Description
In November 1999, the Minister of Health and Wellness released the final report of the Long Term Care Review: Healthy Aging: New Directions for Care. The report recommends a new vision for continuing care and seniors’ health in Alberta to meet the changing needs of aging Albertans. The report was released for public review and feedback. There is strong support for the new vision and recommendations of the report from the following respondents: health authorities, provincial professional organizations, consumer organizations, government departments and the public. Alberta Health and Wellness has developed a document entitled Strategic Directions and Future Actions, Healthy Aging and Continuing Care in Alberta based on the results of the stakeholder, public response and departmental analysis.
