The purpose of this package is to provide information that will help industry decide whether to apply for designation as an optional certification trade, a compulsory certification trade or a designated occupation under the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Act and toprovide guidelines to assist in the preparation of an application, or request, for designation and the supporting documentation.
