Description

The Alberta Forest Legacy document guided the original development of the standards. These standards were developed to allow for the possibility that all forests originating from Stream 2 material will be replaced through natural regeneration rather than planting. These standards will be adapted to evolving knowledge. The standards were implemented in 2003, reviewed in 2004 and 2005 and revised in July, 2005. They were reviewed again in 2008 and 2009 with a revision in May of 2009. A future review is planned for 2013.
