Some key points about our sectors are the following: International experts anticipate a 70-per-cent increase in global food demand by 2050; Alberta's food, forest and agriculture sectors had sales of $26 billion in 2012, equal to almost 30 per cent of Alberta's energy sales; There has been substantial investment in Alberta's research and innovation system, which can work with industry to respond to market opportunities; Society increasingly expects resource-based economies to be environmentally responsible.
