Description

The Alberta Spatial Price Survey measures price differences between selected Alberta communities for a basket of goods and services at a specific point in time, using Edmonton as the index base. This means that Edmonton is benchmarked at 100.0 and serves as the basis of comparison. As such, communities having an index value above (or below) 100.0 experienced higher (or lower) prices than Edmonton for a particular basket of commodities.

These searchable files provide information on grant payments made by the Government of Alberta departments and select agencies to support programs and initiatives throughout the province. The payment data is available in files for each fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). The data identifies: the ministry which provided the grant; the grant recipient; the payment amount; the program under which the grant was made; and whether the grant was funded by the Lottery Fund.

An affordable housing needs assessment is a critical tool to help communities understand the current state of affordable housing and to identify gaps. Municipalities are encouraged to conduct affordable housing needs assessments to support long-term community planning and inform Government of Alberta decision making. This guide has been developed to assist and provide guidance in the compilation of the data elements and completion of the housing needs assessment template developed by the province. The guide also provides definitions, and explanations on the data elements, as well as links to data sources.
