Description

The intent of this Fire Management Plan is to recommend fire management strategies to mitigate wildfire threat to landscape and species values, as well as communities; minimize threats to forest health (e.g. mountain pine beetle infestation); and allow natural fire regimes to re-establish across the landscape, while prioritizing ecological integrity. In order to meet the intent, a variety of fire management strategies will be employed. The strategies include zoning the Willmore for wildfire management between a natural fire zone where natural fires may be permitted to burn and a managed fire zone where fires will generally continue to be suppressed. Currently the entire Willmore Willmore Wilderness Park Fire Management Plan – November 2006 Wilderness Park is a managed fire zone with full suppression. Enabling a natural fire zone as soon as possible reduces the potential to impact natural fire cycles.

Both Smoke and Iosegun Lakes are well known as sport fisheries lakes and consequently over the years have become destination recreation lakes. Both lakes have some capability for increased recreational use and for residential use as they are located close to the town of Fox Creek. Although a number of other lakes int he region have excellent fisheries potential as well, Iosegun and Smoke have the best potential for expanded development due to the close proximity to established travel corridors and population centers and the fisheries resource is able to withstand limited increased harvesting.

This re-entry plan for Early Childhood Services to Grade 12 (ECS-12) is part of the Alberta government's relaunch strategy that was announced on April 30, 2020. It considers three scenarios that could exist when the 2020-2021 school year begins in September. The Minister of Education announced on July 21 that schools will welcome students under scenario 1 — near-normal daily operations with health measures. Provides a comprehensive hazard-specific consequence management plan that clarifies the roles, responsibilities, and communications pathways in respect to a human-induced intentional act (HIIA). HIIA is differentiated from other emergency and disaster response and recovery in that law enforcement has a defined police crisis management role separate from emergency management structures. This plan will apply when the coordination of crisis management and consequence management is necessary to resolve a HIIA.
