Alberta’s ambient air quality objectives and guidelines are developed to protect Alberta’s air quality. They are intended to provide protection of the environment and human health to an extent technically and economically feasible, as well as socially and politically acceptable. This document provides objective levels for xylenes, as well as a short description of the substance and the effects of exposure to xylenes on humans, other animals, and vegetation.
