Description

On July 3, 2018, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) was directed to investigate the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man. Upon completion of the investigation, and based on consultation with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS), on June 5, 2020, two members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Cpl. Randy Stenger and Const. Jessica Brown, were charged with criminal negligence causing death.
