Description

This downloadable map product includes the Provincial Electoral Divisions (PED) from the most recent provincial election. The data in this information product illustrates the boundaries of Alberta's 87 Provincial Electoral Divisions. Electoral Boundaries are defined by the Alberta Election Act, Chapter E-1, 2018. Provincial Electoral Divisions (PEDs) are territorial units represented by an elected Member to serve in the Alberta Provincial Legislative Assembly. The Provincial Electoral Divisions used in this information product were enacted in December 2017 and came into effect for the 2019 provincial general election. The PED profile contains data created by Statistics Canada in the 2021 Census of Population. The map is a Bivariate map with two factors being shown through the fill colours of each divisions the percentage of CERB recipients versus the percentage of working age people with some post-secondary education. The payment data is available in files for each fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). The data identifies: the ministry which provided the grant; the grant recipient; the payment amount; the program under which the grant was made; and whether the grant was funded by the Lottery Fund.

This 1:3,000,000 cartographic map product includes the federal census divisions and subdivision boundary from the most recent census year within the boundaries of Alberta. The official boundaries are updated every 5 years with the census and should be considered the most recent official boundaries. The current boundaries are from the 2021 Census of population. This information is adapted from Statistics Canada, Boundary files in their respective years. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
