This two-page information sheet provides a summary of the results of a public engagement process to explore amendments to the Local Authorities Election Act and Municipal Government Act which would enhance accountability and public trust in local elections and local elected officials. The public engagement was conducted by Municipal Affairs between June 29 to July 22, 2022 of municipal associations were also contacted to gather additional input. This information package has been developed to assist petitioners and school boards with the recall of a school board trustee process in accordance with the Education Act and the Local Authorities Election Act. It is intended as a reference for petitioners and secretaries who may be involved in a notice of recall petition and the completion of a recall petition. It is a compliment to the applicable sections of the Education Act and the Local Authorities Election Act and is not intended to be the sole source of information for the recall process, but to be used in conjunction with legislation.

Accountability Pillar one-page overall summary for 2020 for each public, separate and Francophone school authority. Each sheet includes the current year results, as well as results for the previous year, a three-year rolling average, and provincial summary results for comparison. The Accountability Pillar gives school boards a consistent way to measure their success and assess progress using a broad spectrum of measures. Reporting results allows Albertans to see how their school authority is performing and ensures that the entire education system is open and accountable. Participation in provincial achievement tests (PATs) and diploma examinations were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. There is no October update of the AP results for these two measures. The May 2020 (Revised) overall summaries reflect the AP data released in May 2020 and the absence of the PAT and diploma examinations results in 2019/20.
