The Reform of Agencies, Boards and Commissions Compensation Regulation, which came into force on March 16, 2017, brings consistency and clarity to the approach of setting executive compensation in public agencies. This handbook provides additional information regarding the intent of the regulatory compensation provisions, policy direction and additional information. It is intended for the use of Government of Alberta departments and public agencies which are applying the regulation.

The Reform of Agencies, Boards and Commissions (Post-secondary Institutions) Compensation Regulation, which came into force on April 15, 2018, was amended effective April 1, 2021. The Regulation brings consistency and clarity to the approach of setting executive compensation at post-secondary institutions. This handbook provides additional clarity on the meaning and intent of the regulatory compensation provisions, policy direction and information. It is intended for the use of Government of Alberta departments and public agencies, specifically post-secondary institutions which are applying the regulation.
