These searchable files provide information on grant payments made by the Government of Alberta departments and select agencies to support programs and initiatives throughout the province. The payment data is available in files for each fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). The data identifies: the ministry which provided the grant; the grant recipient; the payment amount; the program under which the grant was made; and whether the grant was funded by the Lottery Fund.

Description

This Alberta Official Statistic uses a 5-year extended Facility Condition Index (FCI) value to report the physical condition of government owned or supported facilities. The FCI was adopted as a common measure to enhance reporting by enabling the Ministry of Infrastructure to compare condition ratings across facility types (health facilities, schools, post-secondary institutions and government owned facilities). The FCI is a ratio of the cost to address current and future (five year) maintenance needs, relative to facility replacement value. FCI’s are translated to good, fair and poor ratings based on the “interpretation of FCI Values” stated below. The percentages are calculated by taking the square metres of all facilities in good, fair or poor condition (as defined by FCI) and dividing each by the total area of all buildings within each facility type.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the highest level of educational attainment among the population (25 to 64 years of age) in 2011. The population is divided into larger urban centres and rural and small town areas. Within rural and small town Alberta, the population is divided into four categories according to integration with urban economies. The four categories are called Metropolitan Influence Zones (MIZ) and capture urban integration by measuring the percentage of the working population commuting to urban centers.

This Alberta Official Statistic describes the employment rates of persons aged 15 years and over by highest level of education for Alberta and Canada from 1990 to 2014. The educational classifications are '0-8 years', ‘some high school’, 'high school graduate', ‘some post-secondary’, 'post-secondary certificate or diploma', ‘bachelor’s degree’ and 'above bachelor’s degree'. Generally, persons with higher educational qualifications have higher employment rates than those with lower qualifications.
