Bill 7 was introduced into the Legislature in November of 20112 to amend three acts: Election Act; Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act; Senatorial Selection Act. The amendments are based on recommendations from Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer. Ninety of the 101 recommendations have been accepted or accepted with some revisions. This document provides a tabular layout of the current act and sections affected by the bill, the proposed changes to each of the sections, and the rationale behind the proposed changes.
