Description

Trail designation is part of Alberta’s approach to managing trails on public lands to ensure sustainable use and management. Trail designation is by ministerial order which can designate trails under the Trails Act and establish them as provincial trails under the Public Lands Act. Trails that are being considered for potential designation may also be listed in the order. Within the orders are the maps of where trail designation are located and description of the boundary.
