Le programme de sciences du secondaire part du principe que tout élève devrait avoir la possibilité d’acquérir une culture scientifique, c’est-à-dire d’acquérir dans le domaine des sciences les connaissances, habiletés et attitudes nécessaires pour résoudre des problèmes et prendre des décisions, tout en développant le goût d’apprendre toute sa vie et en conservant un sentiment d’émerveillement face au monde qui l'entoure. Le programme de Sciences 10 permet à l'élève d’apprendre à travers des expériences variées à explorer, analyser et apprécier l’interdépendance des sciences, de la technologie, de la société et de l’environnement et à en tirer une compréhension qui se reflétera dans sa vie personnelle, son choix de carrière et son avenir.

This resource is intended to help classroom teachers and staff better serve the needs of their Aboriginal students. It offers information about Aboriginal cultures and perspectives, practical ideas, and sample strategies that will help teachers meet the needs and recognize the gifts of Aboriginal students. Many of the sample strategies are good for all students and are relevant for a range of educational settings and contexts. The resource is organized into seven chapters. Each chapter contains information, sample strategies, shared wisdom from Aboriginal scholars and Elders, and related stories shared by Aboriginal teachers and liaisons.

The Un-Vacant Lot focuses on the topics of communities and interdependence. A community is a place where a number of plants and animals meet their needs. Interdependence describes the way a person, place or thing depends upon any other person, place or thing. Every living organism on our planet lives in a community and depends on other living and non-living things for its continued existence; no organism can live without affecting or being affected by the environment. The Un-Vacant Lot may take place in the early autumn to serve as an introduction to the year-long study of communities. The Un -Vacant Lot is an activity-based examination of interdependence and communities.
