This long-term action plan will help align Alberta’s sport sector approach to developing sport in the province. It challenges all partners to devise creative solutions, promote sport, build capacity and remain fully accountable. It is a guide for all provincial sport stakeholders to help collectively refine and improve future programs and services and contribute to quality of life for all Albertans.

Description

Discusses the activities and achievements and presents the financial statements of the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation. The Foundation is responsible for providing financial and technical assistance for heritage projects, for making decisions on naming geographical features and for hearing representations on proposed designations of historic resources. It is a provincial corporation created under the Historical Resources Act and accountable to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, and is governed by a board consisting of individuals from across the province with a shared passion for preserving and promoting Alberta's heritage.

Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) aims to foster healthy, vibrant communities across Alberta. The program has been designed to support the efforts of organizations that contribute to their communities and to create opportunities for Albertans to engage with their communities. Specifically, CFEP responds to local facility enhancement needs and works in partnership with eligible nonprofit organizations to assist communities with acquisition, construction, upgrade, or redevelopment of public-use community facilities.

The design, management and facilitation of public input processes require a principled approach. The protocols and frameworks which guide such work need to be developed from real-life, on-the-ground experience. The approach outlined in this resource was developed by a group within the Government of Alberta that has played a lead role in the facilitation of a large number of public participation events in the province. The intent of this document is to share their learnings for the use of others who are embarking on similar ventures of seeking public input.
