Description

The draft concept plan provides background information and outlines the management and development intents for the proposed Saskatoon Mountain Provincial Recreation Area. It proposes that recreational trail use, both motorized and non-motorized, be offered, and that the current hunting regime continue with the addition of hunters requiring a firearms discharge permit. Proposed facility development includes designated OHV trails, non-motorized multi-use trails for activities such as hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing, a campground and an upgraded day-use area. The plan also recognizes the conservation values of the site and proposes to protect the areas of highest conservation value.

To undertake this analysis, InterVISTAS reviewed and synthesised existing research analysis, and conducted a number of additional analyses to update the information, fill in gaps, link policies to impacts, and fully explain the many ways in which Canada's aviation system is taxed.

This study was undertaken to explore the perceptions that young adult households, family households, and older adult households residing in Alberta’s urban areas have of the rural vacation experiences available in the province. Using a qualitative approach, 12 focus groups were held with Albertans residing in urban areas of the province. The study and this report start to gather information that can eventually be used to inform marketing and product development strategies and plans that will resonate with the target audiences within the province.

It will also provide information that will assist in preparing annual operating plans and budgets.
