Includes information on funding opportunities available through the Heritage Preservation Partnership Program to support heritage awareness projects. Heritage awareness grants provide funding to various forms of initiatives that preserve, interpret, promote awareness, produce new understanding or add to the knowledge base of Alberta's history. Publication grants support the publication of books and other documents that preserve, interpret, promote awareness, produce new understanding or add to the knowledge base of Alberta's history. Research grants support research that will preserve, interpret, produce new understanding or add to the knowledge base of Alberta's history.

Description

The Heritage Preservation Partnership Program is the principal heritage funding program of the Government of Alberta. The program provides matching grants and scholarship funds to support initiatives that preserve and interpret Alberta’s rich heritage. It is administered by the Historic Resources Management Branch of Alberta Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women.

Includes information on two funding opportunities available through the Heritage Preservation Partnership Program. The Roger Soderstrom Scholarship was established to help advance historic preservation in Alberta by assisting student research. The Bob Etherington Heritage Conservation Fund aims to help develop skills in heritage conservation in Alberta by providing financial support to eligible individuals who wish to attend training and eligible organizations who wish to deliver training in the conservation of historic buildings.

This publication is part of a series of field study programs produced by the Environmental Education Program of Natural Resources Service in Kananaskis Country and Fish Creek Provincial Park. The publications have been written to address the mission of Alberta Environment and increase students’ environmental awareness, understanding, interaction and responsibility for the natural world in which they live. The publications are developed in a close working relationship with teachers, community educators and program writers. Programs focus on the areas of environmental education, science, social studies and language arts. They are also developed to emphasize elements of environmental literacy, lifestyle, and citizenship.
