To support a growing visitor economy, Alberta has launched a long-term provincial tourism strategy to share Alberta's story and history with the world. The tourism strategy will help Alberta's visitor economy reach $25 billion in yearly visitor expenditures by 2035. The strategy focuses on five key pillars of leadership and alignment, competitive product, people and careers, expansion of access, and Indigenous tourism to ensure that the provinces visitor economy reaches new heights.

The West Bragg Creek trail network has been operated by the Bragg Creek Trails Association, in partnership with the Government of Alberta’s Forestry and Parks since 2010. Ten years after the completion of the first All Seasons Trail Plan (2010) for the area, Bragg Creek Trails Association and Alberta Forestry and Parks collaborated on updating the trail plan. The West Bragg Creek Trails Master Plan serves to maintain the area’s success as a hub for trail-based recreation and tourism supported by basic facilities while addressing increased visitation and growing visitor use conflicts and safety issues. Alberta’s Land-use Framework (LUF), released in December 2008, sets out a new approach to managing the province’s land and natural resources to achieve Alberta’s long-term economic, environmental and social goals. The LUF establishes seven new land-use regions and calls for the development of a regional plan for each. The South Saskatchewan Regional Plan sets the stage for robust growth, vibrant communities and a healthy environment within the region over the next 50 years. Parks provide opportunities for learning and social connection in diverse landscapes and facilities. Finally, parks protect natural habitat and processes and provide clean air and water. Regardless of age, ability, gender, cultural background, education level, or individual perspective, time spent in nature can be an inspiring escape from the busy urban world. This document strives to create a foundation for the inclusion of all Albertans into park experiences and landscapes - from their first “experience of a lifetime” to a lifetime of experiences. This inclusion plan is a commitment that everyone is welcome in Alberta’s parks – and that everyone belongs outside.
