This report describes the soils of the Whitecourt and Barrhead areas in central Alberta including the cultural and physical features of the area, the morphological and chemical characteristics of the soil series, and certain land use aspects. The soil map shows the location and extent of the different soil areas and indicates the main topographical features. The soil rating map shows a suggested productivity grouping based on a rating of the soils.

The three soil maps that form part of this report show the kind and location of the various soil and topography types. The report describes the soil types, gives analytical data of representative profiles, and gives the average rating of each soil type. Three appendices cover problems related to land levelling, to salinity and drainage, and to fertility and management.
