A municipal inspection was conducted for the Summer Village of Crystal Springs, Alberta as directed by the Minister of Alberta Municipal Affairs. This report draws attention to areas of deficiencies discovered by the inspectors during the course of the inspection and makes a number of recommendations for governance, administration and financial areas of the municipality.

A municipal inspection has been conducted for the Town of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta as requested by the town council and further directed by the Minister of Alberta Municipal Affairs. The inspection found several areas for improvement in the processes and conduct of the town management, administration and operations. The inspection mandate requires the inspection to determine whether the municipality is managed in an irregular, improper or improvident manner. Several recommendations for improvements are provided, but the inspectors found that overall the municipality is not being managed in an irregular, improper or improvident manner.

A March 2015 petition by electors of the Town of Fort Macleod requested the involvement of Alberta Municipal Affairs to conduct an inquiry into the mayor’s actions. The Minister of Municipal Affairs responded by ordering a municipal inspection into the management, administration and operations of the Town. This report draws attention to areas of deficiencies discovered by the inspectors during the course of the inspection and a series of recommendations are made for governance, administration, operations and financial matters to assist the municipality in moving forward towards full legislative compliance and sustainability.
